Solar panels of a different power

would there be a problem with putting different power panels in series...
Say a 50W with 3 100W to get 48V,.... would there be a problem with the current going through the 50W panel???

Yes, sadly you will have a big problem trying to put them in series, the 50w panel with drag the current from the 100w panels down to it's own level(50w) almost, so you would only get 200w out of your 350 watts of panels....

You would probably be better off just buying another 100w panel, and sell off your 50w panel on ebay!

Was thinking the same thing.... just wasent absolutly sure....

I actually have 1@100W and 2@75...., mabey ill get 4@75W and 1@50W....... to get 4 pairs of 150W....

still a spendt prospect.
Trying to move my solar pannels is fun.

This is the same phenomenon where covering just one cell in your panel will bring the power output to about half, and cover two cells or more, and your lucky to light an led. I wouldn't sell your 50 watt panel. You could just give it to me :), if not, hook it up on your house, and have it float charge some 12v batteries. Maybe have some halogens wired up to it. If your willing to do this, you can buy another 50 watt panel, wire them up in parallel and you should be set. I have done this many times with my small panels.
