I've posted a diary entry on building slip rings

For those interested, I've posted a diary entry on a homebrewed slip ring solution. I just couldn't take the dangling, twisted wire method any more.

Very nice!!  Have you tried it out yet?? Just curious to see how it works. Ive always wanted to do something like this but I guess I have been lucky so far in not needing them. But maybe soon. Nice job.   :-)            RoyR

Hi Roy,

I've wired it up and tested by spinning the generator while rotating the tower stub. I rocked it around a bit to make sure the brushes keep in contact with the rings. It transfers the power well from what I can tell with just a volt meter.

Assuming I can get new blades balanced this weekend, I hope to have it installed and working fairly soon.
