Its simply that Scoop does NOT like  quotes in the subject of replies

Just don't use " " in your reply subject and the problem goes away. This is addressed in the submission guidelines I believe.

Cheers.

Well you got this response posted so I'm not sure whats up. I contacted DanF about it and we will see what we can figure out.

Actual, concise, error messages or exact steps you took to get the problem would help a lot.

Are you getting the error trying to reply to a story, post a story or reply to a comment to a story?

The only way I can reproduce it [so far] is using " " in the subject of a reply so I'm lost as to why you have the problem and no one else has seen it without the "quotes".

Cheers.

Don't know if you were getting this but if someone creates a thread with a title of 47-50 characters, when you reply, "Re: " is added to the front bumping up the length to 50+ characters.

Perhaps limiting the the title to 46 characters would help. Also, making the - you failed - much bigger will help.

Not saying this is the only problem but I was hit by that one yesterday on iFred's long title about his interupter/shaper motor.

Martin;

Good point and quite possibly the problem. It never occured to me that the re: was doing it. Probably need to add that one to the user guide along with a note that a long title is not necessarily a good thing. Slowly but surely finding the bugs.

Thanks

Cheers.
