abs / pvc props

I don't seem to see any posting about abs pipes blades. pvc seems fine but what are the rationales? I've been told that abs would be sturdier in cold weather but I'm not sure. Maybe the abs pipes are too thick?

I read all the posts on pvc pipes but got some 3" abs pieces for my micro-genny, could it be useable? This is a really small mill with a 3 blade prop that should be 3 to 4' diameter.

think PE pipe would be the best thing to use. it is used ,at least here in the UK, for gas and is bright yellow and quite thick. they use PE for its flexablity. it doent shatter if it explodes so if you used it for blades it might survive overspeeding better. ABS is stronger than PVC i believe but will still shatter under impact. PE will just bend.
