Easy question: What is meant by a #10 bolt?

Not being an imperial person, could someone give me the thread diameter in inches or mm of a #10 bolt? Us Aussies are metric!

The American-standard #10 bolt that I always use are the equivalent of four and a half millimeter diameter. TO be sure like you wanted it be, I just checked one of the bolts against a measuring tape. But I don't think it has to be that critical, anything near sizes can do I supposed. But I can be wrong too.

Have a jolly day mate,

Sorry, I thought for a second that this was slashdot.  SAE bolts go into number sizes below 1/4" diameter.  Here is a table that has the details http://euler9.tripod.com/bolt-database/33.html
