I think I just got a good deal on a weather station
Just found the same one on Ebay for 188 Canadian.
I paid 97.00 and i got it at Home Depot. Anyone interested check it out her is the link for the ebay item just so you can see what it looks like. Can tell you it is all plastic construction. Wireless needs 2 AA bats in transmitter. comes with good lengths of phone cord to transmitter one from wind station the other from rain station.

here's the link

Hooked mine up saturday but didn't connect the rain gauge, to much snow. Seem to work fine so far. The main display a little hard to read if your angle is off. But for the price I am happy. We see how it handles the cold winter. My Father saw it and wants one too.

Good deal
Wayne

I bought a new in the box $200 Davis for $4 at a garage sale.  Guy must have got it for Christmas and thought to himself, "Yea, like I'm going to climb up on my roof to install this."

Cool.

Does it do long-term average wind speed?  Or have a computer interface?

thanks reno for this post, i had no idea a tool like this was available..i bought mine this morning and this thing does tons of stuff.

It will measure:

-time with alarm
-wind direction
-wind chill
-barometric pressure
-rainfall
-barometric trend over the last 24 hours
-temperature alarm
-date
-wind speed
-indoor and outdoor temperature
-relative hunidity

-just thought i would put the things it does, forecast the next 12 hours based on trends from the last 72 hours.

anyhow thanks again...this thing is super cool and well worth the 90 bucks canadian or so........pickster

Just got off the roof and my behind is frozen.
Time to connect the transmitter. The funny thing is I was 90% complete building an aneometer when I found this unit. My only concern is all the plastic but there is not much surface area so it should do ok. This forum is great for stuff like this.
When I was at the hardware store looking for anchors the guy there told me his dad just got one so I think the price is right.
