Here is all in one panel center at the price of thr MX60 MPPT

l'm building a remote cabin soon and l will need a good system. l have 2 trace 2412 and a huge battery bank 2400 amps l got second from a federal prison. l have no AC/DC circuit protection, no voltage regulator. l would like to erect 10 tape drive genies. Someone told me that the Outback mx60 MPPT would be a good choice to regulate the voltage of the gennied. On the other hand l saw on ebay what is called ``Trace Power Center 250`` FOR $575.00. lt sounds like the item is discontinued. l talked with a technician of AASP, though they still have this item in their databases was retailed at $1495.00, they no longer sell this item. l think this item fits. l would realy appreciate feedbacks.

                              DESCRIPTION

The new Trace Power Centers combine the major elements of a renewable energy system -charge control, circuit protection, grounding, AC/DC load breakers into a single enclosure. The PC250 is both fully certified to UL and CSA standards, and may be best described as the "ultimate renewable energy system service entrance.

This product line totally simplifies the installation of an inverter/battery/solar PV system. The PV Series offers unrivaled flexibility; system voltage is field selectable for 12, 24, or 48 Volts, and the capacity of the charge controller can be expanded as well. Retrofitting a PC250 Power Center is a great way to upgrade existing inverter systems.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----- TAKE NOTE THAT THERE IS A LITTLE CONFUSION IN THE NEXT TWO SENTENCES.---------

<<<<The 250 amp Power Center works with a wide variety of Trace inverters - up to and including a pair of SW 5548s. The PC250 is designed for a single inverter>>>>.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE PC250 comes with our 60 amp Pulse Width Modulated charge controller built right in. They also include LED batteries status indicators, and a 500 amp shunt which is ready to connect to a Trace Meter. The Power Center has generator start/stop, PV Ground Fault Interruption, and remote battery temperature sensing options.

In order that loads can be powered directly from an external source of electricity the PC250 is equipped with a single inverter input/output/bypass breaker on the AC output side. The PC250 comes with a single 250 amp battery main breaker.

PC250 Specifications

Main Inverter Disconnects

One 250 amp inverter breaker/disconnect, rated at 125 VDC &10,000 Amps Interrupting Capacity (AIC). Provides National Electric Code (NEC) required over current protection for high current inverter circuits.

Advanced 60 amp PWM Charge Controller with PV Input Breaker

Solid-state 60 amp, microprocessor based pulse width modulated (PWM) charge control with multi-stage charging algorithms (bulk, absorb, float).
One 60 amp PV input breaker with #2 AWG with two remaining DC breaker slots. Field configurable for 12, 24, or 48 volt operation.
Field adjustable Bulk and Float set points plus factory calibrated defaults for Flooded Lead Acid, Sealed Gel, or AGM batteries.
Ten segment LED bar graph displays battery state of charge. Additional status indicators show array charging and low battery.
Automatic and manual equalization modes for flooded batteries.
Protected against surges, reverse polarity, short circuit, over temperature, and overload conditions.
Rated for continuous operation at 60 amps - avoids 125% derating required by NEC.

AC Section with Input/Output/Bypass Breaker

60 amp AC inverter bypass configuration allows loads to be powered directly from external AC power source.

System Integration
Courier shippable, powder coated enclosure, conduit ready with knockouts conveniently placed for easy mounting of a single Trace SW or DR inverter.
Current shunt / bonding block accepts #4/0 AWG fine strand cable. Remote meter terminal block allows easy connection of battery current or amp hour counting meter.
Meets the NEC requirements for overcurrent protection and "means of disconnect." UL Listed

if you tdm pu tout 50V@5A,....if u forced the max voltage to be at your bats with a regular C40, u will only get 50W,... with the mppt u should get 250W

Now .... X10

  1. W from the regular regulator....
  2. 5KW from the mppt (though the mx60 will only handle 60A out -- so at 48V bank, thats 2.8Kw but if your bank was only 12V, thats only 720W ...)
soo ... gona balance your figures to get the best out of what u got.
Trying to move my solar pannels is fun.
