Multi-strand coil winding ?

Combining different sizes?

What are the draw backs, if any, using different gauge wire in multi-strand coil winding?

For example using #14 together with #16.

Thought I read on some previous post that this was not a good idea for some reason. Perhaps current distribution/sharing.

Thanks,
Hank

It is cone at times in electric motor rewinding.  But ususlly only one or two gauges difference to get the sometimes 1/2 gauge size. eg 15 1/2 gauge.
