am i correct...??

in the assumption that when wiring a three phase stator in star, it does not matter as far as phasing goes, to wire all the ends of the coils together (common) rather than the starts. I dont see why this would matter. I just need a second opinion before I cast the stator because after i cast it, there will be no way to change the wiring.  again, the way i have it wired now, is, all ends are tied together and im using the coil starts for the output.

Thanks,
RoyR

If all starts together is correct , then all ends together is the same thing electrically. Is this for a 12 pole 9 coil machine? If so it sounds correct when all coils are wound in the same direction and placed in the same orientation.

Yes Victor, this is for a 9 coil/ 12 pole three phase machine. I thought it wouldnt make a bit of difference as long as everything else is aligned correctly (in phase). I just needed a second opinion to give me some reassurance haha  because I am casting all wires and connections internal to the resin and there will be no way to change it once i pour. Thanks again!!

It might be wise to keep all coil ends accessable if possible.
In some magnet/coil arrangements, the voltages are generated 60 deg out of phase, and the "center" phase leads must be interchanged in order to change the phase relationship to 120 deg.

Ed, just to make sure, i kept the connections the same and i zip-tied all coils to a piece of plywood and held it on the lathe with one rotor. It behaved like it should and i kept it the way i originally wired it:  all ends tied together, and all starts for output.  I then cast it, and i shall see how it comes out in a bit  :-)   Thanks guys.
