Circuits to all and a couple words for Thunderhead

As I promised, diagram circuits of APC back- and smart- UPs.
For educational puposes only. Do not act like they - for many reasons...

Part 6

2. Smart-Ups:

Thunderhead, answer, please. I find your solution of scaled invertors interesting and sometime add to that new and new solutions.

I'm trying to get the schematics for a APC Back-ups Pro 650.  I've got 2 broken UPS's of the same type and if I can get the schematics I can fix them.  The schematics here are similar but the nomeclatures are diffent and the board layouts are not the same either.  I know that I have good voltages coming off my bridge rectifiers but with out any more info on the board I'm about as far as I get without spending hours trying to trace things out.

hiker;

Must be that Microsoft browser. I get all of them here by clicking the links. Mozilla and OS X.

Cheers.

Greeting from Northeast Missouri to all

What kind of Duty Cycle do these UPS have out of the box.

Vic

P.S. (can not see pic's 1 and 2 all other seem ok)

In Back Ups - about 70% (sorry, dislike exact digits and the boring mathematics at all) to achieve 240 V AC with 300 V amplitude (in Europe, the same duty cycle to US and Japan, but voltage is different) and in Smart-Ups output is sinusoidal.

Thank you for the info Caballo,

I have a APC backup pro 650, and 3 of the 400.
Thinking they may be useful as I gather more items for my first atempt at wind generation.

Do not mention.

By the way, if some files were corrupted while downloading, try manually clear temporary internet files at your computer and the download again - right click on the link - save target as - etc.

In some cases corrupted files may be stored on the cashe of any intermediate server, so it would be necessary wait a couple of weeks till that cash will be cleared or try connect through another server.

All pics are OK on my end.

Caballo, these look like they're from a service manual.  If so, I'm a little surprised; it seemed to me that APC is pretty stingy with information.

The Smart UPS schematics look like an older version.  I've got an SU420 and an newer SU620 and the circuit looks more like the older one.  Seems strange that they didn't use the RFP50N05L (or NPD7050L in my newer one). Those 'L' suffix FETs can be directly driven by logic levels.

Anyway, thanks.  Looks like most of the circuit still applies to my newer UPS.

"If so, I'm a little surprised; it seemed to me that APC is pretty stingy with information." Another reason do not respect them. By the way - there are also people I definitely respect - QSC Corp., Rane Corp, Professional Audio Syst. and some other - they do not make their production unreparable/monopoly reparable. Also frequently give diagram circuits Akai, Sharp and Sony. In SU and Russia now also exists this old good tradition to give diagram circuits, unfortunately things are changing to worst now, anyway, honest manufacturers still exist. :-)
