I went out today to test a mill. When I looked up I saw a Bald Eagle and two hawks flying together. What a bird! You have to see one to feel their complete majesty. We though it would leave when last year a tornado took out half its nest. (The nest is about 10' across). They rebuilt it this spring fortunately. Eagles return to the same next every year. The hawks( red tail) looked small next to the eagle and they are large birds themselves. The eagle caught an air current and flew in a southerly direction at a very fast speed. He or She, was quite high up.
The leeks are up and had them for dinner on my return from picking them I passed the bluebird nest and she was on her eggs.
All this almost makes winter in these mountains bearable. I said almost!
