Well, apparently you can't :)[ Parent ]
Two things can help us get off of oil. OPEC and John Kerry. 1. OPEC cuts production or declares an embargo. Hey Bush! Let's see you say "bring em on" to OPEC! 2. John Kerry wins. I'm hoping he will try to educate people about conservation, sponsor tax credits for alternative energy, and spend real money on hybrid research. Bush gave wants to give away $60M next year to the big three for 'research'. What have we gotten for the over $50M already spent? Ford puts a toyota system in an escape and bangs its chest...
I hope gas goes to $4 per gallon. That's what it costs in most places already. That would help as long as the president then does the right thing (and that does not mean new drilling in alaska.) I don't really care. My TDI gets 45+ mpg, and I don't drive that much. It just makes me frustrated when nobody cares about efficiency. Germans are efficient, and they are bigger exporters than the US, as of 2003. We could learn alot from that little country of 85M people.
