big tower big blades

dang --stoped by the reindeer farm with the kids--whoa -huge tower- whats up-
big old gen- whats missing--the guy there said he bought the land and this big old tower was already there --okay whats missing --one blade out of the three-broke off-these blades must  be 20 ft.long for each one-hard to tell from the ground--he has no idea what it was used for--on top of that hes got no intrest in it !!this tower is about 4 stories high--man i sure would like to climb up there and see what kind of gen.is mounted up there--my dad made wind gens. years ago in south dakota-when he was just a yougster-used the auto gens. back then.. he used a pulley and belt system.
this was back in the 20s--hand carved blade--12ft. he"s 88 years old now-still going strong--check out goggle search for [hall of fame bill wallner]yep thats
my dad.
if only i would have listan to him more when i was a kid--he moved down to oregon in 1975-sure was hard seeing all the shop go...hes a master mechcanic plus!!who else do you know that does sand casting--if you know what i mean..he has about a 100 old engines that he's rebuilt--plus tractors --and others-would likly sell a few to some one that would appreasrate them--yes i miss my dad up here in alaska-after all he had three homesteades up here. damm don"t you just wish you could go back then !!
seems to me were related to the lemmings--we get overpopulated and destroy ourselfes.
it will happen--no bs about it--shut up HIKER--I AM.....

It seems that your Dad is a man of many talents, and me being an old timer myself feel good to see someone like you that looks at his Dad with that admiration.
Do you have some pics from your Dad's projects that you would like to share with us ?
I am particularly interensted in sand casting (plan to make a model to cast a small hydro turbine impeller).
How is life in Alaska ?
