Has anybody tried this?

I am looking at a product called gorrilla glue to glue magnets on my rotors.  Has anyone tried this stuff before?

Yes, I've used it.  It's for laminating boards together for propellers.  It was the FAA's prime choice for lamimated props until another, much better brand came out.  Its waterproof and virtually indestructible in the weather.  The wood goes and the glue is still there.
Not a good choice for gluing magnets.  The best stuff would be a 2 part epoxy made by 3M used to glue anything to anything... extreemly expensive and once glued you'll never get it apart.  Was used to glue wood spars to metal tubes to form wings on experimental ( also FAA approved).  The next best thing would be JB weld but not the "quick weld".  ITs difficult to work with especially with other forces at hand.  Depending on the rpm's and the actuall application you can usually get by with something less permanent like fiberglass resin.  I've put them in by spot gluing them with super glue then pouring fiberglass resin around them.

Lots of stuff out there...j

JB Weld is a GREAT adhesive in general. However, it reacts to magnetic fields. I don't know if it has iron content or what, but before you use it hold some just mixed JB Weld next to a strong magnet and see what it does. I don't know how that'll affect the performance of an alternator though. It's kinda fun to play with.

I have used the gorilla glue for attaching neo's to the rotors of gennys I made.My experence has been the glue holds real good,it hasn't let go yet.If you want to remove the mags from where they have been glued, take a wooden hammer handle and give them a sharp rap and then they will let go.You can now reuse the mags on some thing else. The cap needs to be put back on tightly to so the glue wont dry out.If it does get too thick to pour, heat the bottle with some realy warm water. I got the gorilla glue at Lowes.I think it works alright.      Maybe this will help.

I was mistaken, devon... I haven't used gorilla glue, it was Grizzly glue for laminating. Sorry about that... late last night when I posted.

JB Weld works great for glueing on magnets. It is slightly reactive to the strong magnetic feild of a neo. Gorilla glue as far as I can tell will work for just about anything its only drawback is it expands when it cures which is great for filling small gaps. At this time I am using a it to glue the metal strips together for a stator in another disk brake alternator and its holding very well. I would from my experince use JB weld for the magnets and gorilla glue on the prop parts. Use just enough JB weld to squish out from under the magnets slightly and let it cure. Then do whatever you want.
