Twin stator Fisher & Paykel wind generator

Finally finished a working twin stator Fisher & Paykel wind generator.

No power figures yet, but expect up to 500 watts as the single stator wind generators can supply approx 300 watts. Just need a bigger set of blades, as soon as the windmill comes on load the speed won't increase.

Making the adapter for the existing windmill to fit the extra stator was easy, but I need to find a better way to joint the two hubs together, the metal frame I'm using is a bit heavy. I offset the hubs slightly to reduce the cogging effect inherent with these Fisher & Paykel stators.

Glenn, that's a real professional looking job. I like your website too.

Does anyone know where in Canada the Fisher & Paykel motors can be obtained?

Unfortunately, I live in eastern Canada, a long distance from Texas.

I was wondering what brand of washing machine used those motors? Are they sold in North America?

A really nice machine.

One question:
did you wire the both generators
to work all the time, or separately
so that the other will start
only at higher winds?

I just wired them together, each stator has it own 3 phase rectifier, the outputs connected together. But thats a good idea Hannu.
