Cheap..

I coud not resist to build a test machine when i bought a used speed control 0,2-400Hz 5.5 kw i already have a 710rpm (50Hz) 5.5 kw motor with a spun bearing and have to weld it up to work. I think i pay some 40 dollar for the motor and speed control :) Have 230 volt out of the speed control and the motors is 380/660 volt but i think i have some 2,5-3,0 Kw and for those money i like it..I did find it very nice with the rpm on the speed control seam to be right even if it is a asynchronous motor??

Just an insight on the meteo in quebec Laurentians (comparison data), its also one of the worst summer I remember here, very rainy, sometimes as cold as 12 celcius during the day where it should be 30 or so... And wind is good where it usually is very calm. gotta get thru that separation and finish my genny. post some data on tests done with this nice setup. Sure gotta have a fixed RPM meter on this.
