20 amps ceramics

just a test set up--8 coils inlaid in 3/4" plywood--85 windings -with a mixture of
15-17 gauge wire--8 mags per rotor[double stacked=16 per rotor]topped off with harddrive mags[only on one rotor-ran out] total of 32 ceramics,,
open volts  50 plus--with all coils in series-10 plus amps..
with stator split in half and rectified and two halfs in pararell 20 plus amps-25Vs.
when i hook it to a 220 to 110 converter backwards i get about 100Vs.only 200watts max.[with all coils in series]..
hits 12volts  at a slow speed when all coils are hooked in series--not much more speed is needed when hooked up with the stator split in half..
used a 110v handdrill for all the results..
i think thats about all  those ceramics have to offer[with this setup].
TIME TO BREAK OUT THE CHECK BOOK AND ORDER SOME NEOes..
 later..

cool hiker! I like it...

You should check, and see if the "Back side" of your saw blades are "magnetic".  If so (and I suspect they are) they may be saturated... you might try adding more sawblades to the magnet rotors till they're not and see how that affects things.

Neos really are the way to go... but its fun to see ceramics at work.  I've always thought sawblades could be handy in this application.

there is some loss on the backside of the blades--had a bunch of metal squares
cut out-to install under the mags-but just using super glue they kept flying off.
i plan on inlaying the mags in 3/4" plywood as well-with epoxy-sould keep the mags
in place with the metal squares also..
  i was thinkin of using a gate hinge[spring type]on the mounting plate,and a T tail-
to lift the blades out of the wind..the T on the tail would be at a slight angle to
help lift the mill out of the wind--i don't know for sure if that would work[may jump around to much].
well time to hit the trail...............................
