Offsetting the coil seemsto lessen  the peak clip of an air core


  In winding new coils for the stator under construction I flattened the coils until the center was skewed away to the lead side . The peak smoothed out 250 millivolts
and the peak on each leg didn't suffer .I'll  take some scope shots if I can get the light and focus right to make a good post
