3525 queston

pwm feedback

The circuit diagrams I have found for the 3525 all have the inverting input (pin 1) and the compensation (pin 9) tied together, and use the non-inverting input (pin 2) for the feedback.
The manufacturers all use the same cruddy datasheet that doesn't seem to have an explicit answer to a question I have.  I would like to use inverting feedback.  I don't know whether to use compensation pin 9, or inverting input pin 1, and where to connect the other two pins.

The front end of the 3525 seems a bit odd. It works as a normal op amp if you keep the reference between 2.5 and 5 volts and keep any feedback resistor above about 47k.

If you take the reference much below 2.5v it behaves oddly and looses control. I have used it with inverting control.

Also watch the shut down pin, if you are not using it, ground it or it may cause you to loose one output pulse.

Kell:

I have used the Sg3525 for many years, what is what you want to do, the data sheet gives all the info.
Send to me the schematic you want to do, directly to my email.

Regards

Nando
