sailwing rotors

anyone had any practical experience with sailwings?

my wind resource is good at around 13 mph 3 to 4 days a week, with a couple of days higher and the balance lower.

my power needs have been brought into the managable realm of around 100 kwatt hours per month, average,  with some months being lower, some higher but on average about 100 kwatt hours

my generator is capable of around 750 watts at 600 rpm and i would like to derate it to around 300 watts or so at perhaps 450 to 500 rpm

i like the sailwing design for its simplicity of manufacture and lower costs, albeit a shorter life expectancy as opposed to wood blades.

i am thinking along the lines of a three blade design of around 7 ft in diameter,

anyone have any thoughts, math or idea's on this one.

Traditional sailwings have a very low tsr and you will need a belt drive or something to drive your generator.

Trimble Windmills used a modified sailwing, where the cloth was shaped similar to a conventional blade.  The tip was supported at about 5 degrees by a bracket on the spar. The leading edge was attached to the spar and the trailing edge was fixed to a rope, tied to give a steeper angle at the centre.   It seemed a good idea and may be fast enough for direct drive at 7ft with your generator.  They used 3 and 5 blades, contra rotating with both blades of similar tsr.  I don't think I would bother with this , but the basic rotor seemed ok.

Have you thought about this way?

 Tube and wire structure?
