We now have a map on frappr. . .Check it out

Hey, friends!
I took the liberty to create us a map on frappr.  If you want to participate, go to:

LINK and add your site.  It is a place where we can show who is using RE and where they are.

It is free and actually pretty cool. . .

Doug

P.S. the dans or whoever oversees otherpower can have the admin password to the map to make any changes they want. . . Contact me if you want it, or if you'd like the site turned off or whatever. . .

Check out our Frappr!

Entered in. This is catching on as the other forums I'm part of have done the same thing. It's cool to see where everyone lies in the world.

Norm;
 Bruce here;
Here's the link

It was about the little stepper motor test you where doing.
Anything ever come of it? I'm still gathering up coffee containers.

Cheers!

by Norm on Wed Oct 26, 2005 at 03:18:58 PM MST

  Bruce ...Yes that too...but I ran a test and
wrote down the results...like about 10 pounds
and how many inches per second...I think I wrote
this down and sent it to you or else I lost it.
  I really appreciate the stepper motor...in the
meantime I'll send you the same results, using one of the stepper motors that Ghurd sent me...
it does the same job of lighting the 2 white leds
...but doesn't have the same amperage....in
other words...yours would probably be able to
light up a bunch of white leds in parallel
a couple of those coffee cans with an 6-10 mph.
wind would certainly drive them...if not you could stack them a little higher until it did...
another on going project...it's still going a
little slow with this shoulder be improving every day !

Nrom;
 No hurry, I think I still have the results if you need them back from your email. I am working on 5 more of those little guys. Once I finish this little inverter trial then I'll be back working on getting some little VAWT together.

Haven't put "pointed me in" yet.The link is pretty cool. Will be interesting to watch as others sign in.

Cheers!

Hi Devo,

I got that first time I tried, you have to make sure the name is exactly as they want it.  I did Perpignan, but they wanted Perpignan, Languedoc-Rousillion, France!  I just clicked on their looked up name and away it went.

Cheers

This is great, I watched the map go from two entries to over fifty in the mater of a day! I'm on the map now... figured I better. I love seeing where about in the world everyone is. Really helps you feel like your part of a group of many rather then going it alone!

Admin, would you add a link to this on the nav bar like with the IRC channel?

I, too, was surprised how fast it got filled in. . . Still a lot of room, but thanks to
everyone for adding themselves!

More coming every day!

I just made an entry.  It's kind of neat to look around the map of the globe and see where everyone is.  So far, it is only a fraction of the members here.  Rich

I want to see more marks for the people far from the standard areas.
Like Asia, S. America, Russia, and other places I know members are from.

Lets hear more from the people way out there!

GRIN I like the pic of your RE research shop on the map... I see I'm not the only one that got clever with names along those lines. Although I didn't have a photo on hand for the map :~(
