Just a little something I found Kinda off subject but interesting

Artical about unsold, hidden Hummers. 300 of them + or -. http://themessthatgreenspanmade.blogspot.com/2005/11/hummer-overfloweth.html What a waste of resorces Think of all that $$$ that could have been spent on something that gets over 30MPH. They sure can do it in Europe but not here in the US. Can't believe these car manufacturers making such a big deal about +30 MPG when the folks over accross the pond are striving for + 40,50,60 and even 100 MPG. Admin: no hard feeling if you eliminate this, just thought it was interesting.

The government is trying to get to those
who aren't buying gas to fuel their cars
funding for our highways is dwindling ...whose
fault is that? Their logic is electric cars and
other cars that don't use gas ...they don't care
what you burn, so much as long as you share the
expense of maintaining the highways....looks like
you can't win ...the harder you try ...the more
you lose...

So buy a Hummer...use more fuel...maybe the government will give you a discount for using more ??

back in '78 i bought a brand new honda civic. it got 40 miles to an imperial gallon.
it seems odd that with the tech. available today twice that mileage should be attainable.

Sometime ago I was facinated by the article in at JTF about diesels http://www.journeytoforever.org/biodiesel_future.html and some of the MPG ratings of the diesel cars their working on in Europe. 40, 78,95, 118,and a prototype VW at 256MPG. And here in the US +30 WOW. Granted most of the info was from 2001-03 and alot of the links they had have been removed (due to agte I would imagine) but the posabilities are staggering.

The H1s are diesels, so they could be made quite friendly by running with biodiesel.

You expect to avoid taxes?  The roads have to be paid for somehow.  Unfortunately, a miles per driven tax makes sense when cars are all alternate energy.  Of course, there is a question whether the big rigs pay their fair share.  What really bugs me is when a section of road is allowed to deteriorate over a period of years while the department of transportation is busy putting in a series of 2 mile long 4 lane passing zones (read that as speed traps, as people speed up by 10 miles an hour when they hit that four lane section and you have to violate the speed limit to pass them).  Or would you rather have toll roads?
