Profili 2.18a software for airfoils

Is there anyone familiar with that?

I just started to use Profili software, for airfoil tempaltes drawings, so I could make the frame and finalize the blades from it.

But, when I downloaded the program, and start the "Draw interpolated wing ribs" solution within it, it only asked me the beginning ( root) and ending ( tip ) chords, as well as airfoil shape. I choose NACA 4412, and some chords, but I can not find where to choose wing length ( it's software for airplane wing design).
I am planning to experiment with the bladeclac in cooperation with Profili, so I'll take blade angle from Bladecalc, and airfoils / sections from Profili, and try to produce something good.

Yes, I know it is not the best way to do, but I have some time, and think that there must be a good combo.

Just need info about how to decide the wing(blade) length, if possible. That's because I do not know section dimension. Yes, I can put three airfoils on the table, put all leading edges on one line, and when the trailing edge of the one in the middle touches the line that connect the first and the second, that's it.

Scale it.  Say you have three blades 4 inches wide and 6 feet long.  Scale to a width of 30 inches (a factor of 2.5 (30/12-full blade width)) and a length of 15 feet.  It seems, though, that this would only work for a constant width blade.  Also, what about pitch?

Hi -

Click on Panels --> Wing Panel Management. From there you can build your wing/blade including length, chord, incidence. You can use the same airfoil for the root and tip, or choose different ones.

You can choose other options, like spar type (if you're using one), trapezoid or elliptical planform etc.

If you choose to have the program draw the chord line in, you will be able to cut along that and use the upper and lower templates to check your carving activities, or to make a form if you're doing composite blades.

Ted.

Thanks!

I was looking around, even at the program section you mentioned. Now I think I got it. Hope it will work.

But experimenting is something that keepes me alive. I everything would be just as is, life just woudn't be enough fun.

Thanks again.
