I must be learning something.  I understand most of the paper. Not so much the charts on the first read.  And I like charts.  Maybe it does show the perfect combination of decogging measures for best output, for someone with a better grasp of the situation. (I just did what Zubbly told me to do. Thanks Zubbly)

In the Conclusions section, most of it has a familiar sound.
Pole shape- Like decogging a F&P?
Pole arc to pitch ratio- Like Zubbly and others explained?
Skewing- Well, skewing!
Skewing is hard- I didn't think so.

I thought it was funny that they concluded that skewing was more expensive to implement into a design as well.  Rich

I recently overly turned down an induction rotor. It fell apart (knew it would, just not so soon).
Closer looking showed that really is a pretty complicated device.
I too can't believe skewing a magnet would be expensive compared to the regular old rotor manufacturing.
Maybe a twisted and curved magnet is too expensive, but I thought neo's could be sintered, and I thought sintering was cheap.  I don't know....
