| We have some (I think something like 15 or more) 24 volt DC (rated -- I think they actually put out 28 volts, at 100 amps, so as to charge a 24 volt battery bank) surplus military generators.
They have a pull start gasoline engine. I am thinking these might be useful for folks around here to charge their battery banks, or if they were taken apart, other renewable energy sources could turn the generators.
We got them at auction a few years back. Brought one up to our shop in Dallas to test it, and it ran fine. The Army used to have these as a standard motor pool items to charge batteries and provide starting power for the old duece-and-a-halfs (2 1/2 ton truck).
If there is any interest, let me know, we are getting ready to (start) cleaning out a huge warehouse of stuff down by Waco (Texas). Mostly military stuff. I will post details of other things that might be useful to this community as I find them. If I cannot find homes for the stuff, we will try to auction, and then scrap the stuff.
What is the best way to let everyone see what we have? I was thinking I should take digital photos and put them on a personal website, with details? Is that a good way? |
