Question about education :-) ...

what are you suggesting ?

howdy girls ( are there any? ) and boys.

i have been folloving your projects, ideas and posts for a while, and i was wondering is there somewhere good web site for learning about wind generators, types of genarators, "magnet ignitioned" and ignitioned with dc currents? i have been searching whole day long, but it seems i wasnt asking mister google is i should.

i ahvent found that kind of book either in books stores. i wasnt wisiting university libraries,

in this part of world it is hard to get and pay (thanks to low payments) strong magnets, but easy to find various types of motors. maybe some of them are good to convert. in shops you can by generators, but they all are high rpm mashines, made to be conected to diesel or gas engines. we all here are talking about low rpm, right?

so, what do you have to say? i will follow an link you provide, and i willtell you what have made me "smarter"?

thanks

dalibor

ed , i agree with you 110 %, believe me.

the reason i started this is that i want to learn all types of generators, with "cages", without them, multipole engines etc.

hey, maybe we could make somehow some sort of e-book with usefull data from this site, some sort of digest. i am not lazy, i like to read others posts, but i allways get lost on sea of pages and links.

i believe you do understand what i am tryin´ to say.

Hello Dalibor, Ed is right.  This is the best site by far for Wind/Hydro/Solar and much much more.  Hugh Piggot's site is excellent too.  As to where to start you might try spending a few hours here:
http://www.otherpower.com/otherpower_wind.html
Also if you are looking for a good read Hugh Piggot's book is available on this website too...

If ya need anymore help feel free to ask, and when you do build your turbine please post the whole story with photo's :-)  Greatly enjoy seeing new windmills and Hydro plants and Photovoltaic's.
