ed (windstuffnow) has a kit for exactly that. i think you have to make the blades and tower, but everything else is included (iirc).

search for it here on the board, or on his website.

also, zubbly has been doing some beautiful motor conversions, and was looking at getting some blades made for a kit. try contacting him too.

I think the dual rotor is quite a nice way to go.  I don't believe anyone's built one large enough yet to produce 960 watts in a 9mph wind though... I think perhaps you misunderstood something there.

I figured out how to change the windspeed numbers in the chart so its not so confusing.  If I could get 900 watts in a 10 mph wind out of a 6.5 ft prop and an 8 inch alternator I would no doubtedly be rich !  Unfortunately, I highly doubt that is possible... Below shows the chart as it should have been: 63 watts in a 10mph wind

ya i'm all ways getting numbers mixed up.
so on that chart it's 63w @ 10mph.
WELL
you might be rich any way, in your head.
thank you for reposting that graph and setting me straight.
i was totaly wrong.
i've should have got it.
there's only so much power in the wind.sq foot of the prop & mph and so on.
any way to over lay the graphs.
