We'll all be down town at the fair building a wind turbine

This weekend is the 'Rocky Mountain Sustainable Living Fair'.  This will be our 3rd year there, DanF and I (and maybe George) will run a small workshop where we'll hopefully build a wind turbine in two days.  At the end of the event we'll donate the machine (or however much of it gets finished!) to their silent auction.

At any rate, this fair is in N Fort Collins right next door to New Belgium Brewing company.  If anyone's in the area drop in and visit!

Heres the page we made about last years fair: http://www.otherpower.com/slf04.html

Hi Dan,

I am also exibiting at the fair showing a Bergey XL.1 and a mock up of the Bergey EXCEL (10kw).

 See you there.

I am also teaching a class on small wind at the Longmont Free University on Tue eve  9/20.  $88 includes the book "Wind Energy Basics" by Paul Gipe

Make the wind fun!

Cool Victor - that'll be fun, it'll be fun to see you there!

Cant wait to see the excell... will the mock up be full size?  that would take quite a large booth I should think...

Very busy here today getting ready and all.  See you in the morning!

If I can stand the thought of going to town on Tuesday - Ill try/make your class, that sounds interesting!

I stopped by your booth today.  The old saying about the picture and 1000 words is so true.  I've always had trouble understanding how furling works (I'm still in ponder stage of my own Piggot).  Seeing one up close put that one to rest (It's simple!).  Seeing the wire winding mechanism (again, simple) and the resin cast parts made me believe I can actually make one of these things.

There was a guy carving and planing, and sanding a blade (sawdust therapy).

Impressive.
