=two blood blisters

mr.kooo's posting got me thinking , so i phoned a few computor stores. they normally throw old harddrives in the garbage. now i have two stores saveing them for me

with two poles on each face these things are kinda jumpy and unpredictable.ouch!

i'm not shure what sort of power these little mags will produce but they should be good safty training  in preperation  of buying  danb's big boy magnets

With luck, there will be some with 1 pole per face, and 4 neos per HD.

Got 4 'strong' neos, 1 pole per face, curved 15/16" x 1/2" x 3/16", from an 80 meg HD.  From a common brand, but don't recall.
Each one pulls more 'pounds' than a pair of stacked microwave magnets!

hey guys, that kind would be good to find! ive got a wet tile saw so i should be able to cut them up.the thickmess is uniform so i should be able to do some thing with them. one store said they get 5 a week . ive had in mind a genni design with  large(22" dia. rotors to compensate for my slow vawt. this might be a way to do it.

Mine were all 1 pole per face, so they wouldn't need cut.
Some were not even glued in!
I have 3 sizes from 3 different HDs, and they all epoxy coated.

there does seem to be a bunch of slightly different sizes . two i have found has one single mag twice as thick. once i get alot of them i can work out a balanced lay out.
