Another EV related project this time converting a 1980 Kawasaki KE-175 to electric

The link below is to a fun project that I just posted on making a "Dirt-E Bike" from a scrap yard find.

Great project! An increasing number of people are looking into the "snowbird/sunbird" lifestyle. Finding affordable property may mean buying something where its really hot in the summer, or more likely, it snows heavily 4 months a year.

By getting an RV (5th wheel trailer with truck/motorhome with tow-car) this allows retirees and anyone who can afford to "take off" a few months a year to get away from the weather and to buy property away from the city, and live where you are legally allowed to build a comprehensive RE system.

An electric conversion of a dirt bike or 4-wheel ATV from near-free junk provides a camp vehicle that is quiet in the morning.

Very cool and straight forward conversion. Keep us informed with performance data!

Good luck!

Pretty neat.  Bummer you have to wait to take it out for a spin around the block so to speak though.  I wonder what its range and speed will wind up being.  Rich

FrankG,-
SWEET!
Great project, Thanks for the great write up!
I've been wanting to build something for a couple years now, a few years back there was this old guy at the laundry mat I was at,He had an old bike that he had put an electric kit on an when he let me test ride it I knew I'd need one someday. The curry kit he had was out of my range and I didn't even have a bike, hadn't had one since 85 when I bought matching ten speeds for my first X and me.
Even more thinking now since I got the "Solar Scooter" and wanted larger tires than it has.
A 1970 Honda trail 70 frame complete less engine, I scored last year was what I was thinking about putting a forkfilt motor into but I don't think I'll get it out of my girlfriends brothers widow, now.
