nice hub bearing and arbor

From a ceiling fan outdoor model ( all bolts are stainless)
there are at least ten maybe twenty in a dumpster , if you speek up i can go grab a few more ,
for the cost of shipping you can have one .

in the pic below the center is spinning but what i would do is fix the center and use the two shaft ends , one end for the blades and one end for the rotors

i dont know when they pick up the dumpster , but they are guarenteed to be there tonight.

they appear to have ball bearings also

each ingot weighs 1.576 Kg and i have 15 of them
they are even stamped " AAA Alloys "

52 lbs is not bad.?
oh it is real soft i was able to break off this piece by repeated bending

Great finds.

Shipping kills so many good deals, I would like the lead and fans myself, but shipping them to me might cost $100 or more :(

I would grab all those fans rather you get anyone wanting them or not. May be good for motors or lots of parts. Scrap value may be 10cents a pound or more as a motor?

Watch the fumes, lead is still good for casting bullets and fishing sinkers etc...

well i have to dissassemble them at the location they have a pole attached to them about three feet long , and they have five blades with two screws each.
its not like i can just throw them in the back of the pickup and cart them home because
i have a saturn not  a pickup

willib-
what is your zip code?
(I'm in 83402)
what do you think the fans weight?
the blades with mounts only?
could you measure the blade mounts width at the base,(the part that mounts to fan, not the end that holds the blades), from hole to hole?
what do the blades measure in length?

I wish I could score some lead like that, I started to round up all I've saved over the years just yesterday. Going to try to pour some downrigger balls, girlfriends brother came up with a mold for doing them and I've needed some for years. The little ones around 2Lb's that I built from mini-cannon balls found after a round-a-view over in Jackson Hole area don't track very well for me. They drift back to far from straight under the boat. After selling real-ones for years, I learned that the 6Lb ones are to light and the guys that do this a lot like to use 8-10Lb's+ .

Anyway GREAT finds.
:)

Yep that lead has many uses. I've scrounged it for years, and melted it down for wheel weights for lawn tractors and snow blowers. And some 1" thick x 1' square's to lay in the truck bed for winter driving.

Coldspot, or anyone else, if you want some 10Lb downrigger balls, I have 6. I don't need them. They are shaped like fish. Just pay shipping from zip 06010. I

07740
i figure the fans  weigh about 7.45 lbs
the blades with mounts weigh 540g about 1.2lbs each.
they are 21 inches long (just the blades)

the bolt circle where the blades  , mount to the motor  is approx 4.4 inches dia.
the hole to hole distance per blade is 2.1 inches.

willib- I would maybe be interested in the arbour- what diameter shaft does it fit?

i'm gonna have to get back to ya with that info , but it looked like the arbor was threaded onto the end of the shaft.
