Willib, Thats not the one I saw but was very interesting.

I'm beginning to think that I may have been on another site through a link.

I wired up my fan today and am pleased with it but really need a better blade system.

Thanks for the info.

Thats it thank you.

I ran my fan last night and really felt smug about the fact that the local power plant was missing out.

Yesterday I cooked our supper in my solar oven.  steak with mushroom and onion over a bed of rice.  I didnt heat up the kitchen with the big oven and avoided making the airconditioner work harder.

I guess I saved a dollar or two and did a little to cut co2.

Great work Jan,
I couldn't be happier with that fan. I have run it every single day (at nightime: 10-12hours a day) for the last 4 months straight and the brushes still look new. I think it may last close to forever. On really hot nights, I also am using one of those little 12v 10 inch 'campfire' fans in my window to pull the cool air in. It is only 7 watts but I don't think it will last that long. They make it where you can't even take it apart to oil the tiny dc motor. Years ago, my dad tried to make one of those solar stoves out of aluminum foil and a big cardboard box, but it barely got the piece of meat warm. Is yours similar? Did you buy the plans somewhere? You wouldnt happen to have a picture would ya?? That sounds neat. Steak and mushrooms ....sounds delicious!!

Hi all.  The new motor is sitting here next to me with the blades attached waiting on a day off and my being able to talk husband into giving me a hand putting it on the tower.  It's not that it's too heavy but it is a hard load to manage while on a ladder.

The oven I am using was purchased on ebay and is a Solar Oven (brand name) I also looked at one called a Globel Oven that comes with or with out refelectors but I would not even think of usng one without.

The oven gets to 350 f easily and I have made everything from cornbread to beans to meat loaf in it and am quite pleased with it.  I have made several of the cardboard ovens and the one that worked best for me was the simple cone style.

Your can do a web serach for solar oven and get a ton of plans for these and if you have a good shop (which I dont) some of these look like they would work as well as my new one. I would give you a link but that takes more computer skills than I have.

Well its time to leave good company, feed the critters and go to work.  I have to pay for my new toys.
