Proven WINDCROFTING

Does anyone know anything about this?

Hi everyone,

I have registered my interest in the Proven energy 'WindCrofting' scheme to get a bit more information.

http://www.provenenergy.co.uk/proven_windcrofting.shtml

At the moment I havent got a reply, but while I wait I was wondering if anyone else was registered for it, and has the scheme commenced yet.

I live in a very exposed spot in N. Ireland, but it does not state if it is available to N. Ireland.  Does anyone know?

I think it would be an amazing scheme to get involved in and would love to talk to anyone who already had a mini wind farm up and running.

Dee.

I personally wouldn't want to be anywhere close to one Proven machine let alone a wind farm of them after hearing one that occasionally sounded like a helicopter flying overhead. I don't know if it's their PVC plastic blades or their governor (their blades govern independently of each other) but whatever the problem is, Proven needs to reengineer their machines. They are just too noisy for me. I like sleeping at night.

The spot I have in mind is well away from the house so noise wouldn't bother me, and to be honest I dont mind the sound of energy being produced.

Proven have about 50 wind turbines in the Falkland Islands, take a look at the weather conditions they and their blades stand up to. Seeing as Windcrofting is putting your turbines in fields away from any houses, I don't see what noise has to do with not going for this project. But there may be very good reasons for not going into Windcrofting - not having any fields of my own I won't be looking any deeper into the project. And it must always be remembered that one big one beats a lot of small ones; it's just that the planning laws here in the UK are so harsh we have to resort to this to get windpower onto land

Jacobs,

what model Proven have you listen to. I have a WT2500, I don't consider it to be loud. Mine is 100ft from our house, I sleep like a babe.

Last weds had a peak gust of 105mph, it's still standing. It is the only machine I'll install in my backyard, two others WT2500 near by as well.

How would you make it better?

Kevin

SELL 'em a lease and BUY your turbine where you will.  Or include a given amount of power as part of the lease payment.

Discount on one of their turbines for a 25 year lease?  What a crock!

Dee,

call them, they are slow to reply to e-mails.
