electrical connections

In my efforts to recycle
I wondered if flattened copper tube with brass bolts and nuts would work as an electrical bus connection

Terry, copper tube (Eg. 1/2 inch) works well for bus connections. Drilling holes in it can be somewhat precarious. I use a hole punch to make my connection holes. I also use 1 inch lengths to make connector lugs.

Using uninsulated wire/tube to make battery connections is unsafe. You would need to wrap them in electric tape or heat shrink tubing.

I'll second that! If it gets shorted, them wires/pipes get hot, don't grab a hold with bar hands...

I've used flattened tubing for busses before with satisfactory results.  Those busses were mounted within a steel box for solar panel connections which is still in use after over three years.  Rich
