I have to agree vawtman.
Flux is one of a great team of RE experts on fieldlines.

He appears as quite an illusive chap, which is fine - never in my knowledge has Flux been incorrect and appears to relish the chance to help others, which has to be admired.

Just keep going Flux - appreciated :)

Ben.

Or at least tell us more about your projects. Some stories from the old days, pictures maybe? Good God man, who is this person we call Flux?

Agreed,

definetly well thought out responses. You have to admire his patience. It would be interesting to know more about Flux. But think this lends itself to the fact he trys to remain as socially neutral as possible. Purly technical most of the time, but indeed very human. I have much respect for Flux as a person...

Certainly true.

Thanks Mr. (or is it Professor??) Flux for all the great and accurate Information.
I also admire his patience especially for beginners, positive attitude, and tact.
I have never seen him get angry or insult anyone (even though it would be Mega easy for him to do so), but rather is direct, accurate, and to the point, similar to a very experienced and competent teacher.  He is so smart as to not even get angry. Best way to be. I hope he stays around a long time so I can learn alot more.
Thanks Flux!

FLUX  well i think he is most helpful.
and in a gentle way he will explain to the beginner that what he is trying to do is
is a waist of magnets wire and time. in that order.
i just wish flux would write a book on building a wind gen.
like one spanner -two spanner -three spanner - etc etc.
i enjoy this forum i enjoy reading hughs book.
but would also enjoy reading the book bye FLUX .
so if you read this FLUX .how much for a first edition . and signed .
im sure he could have written a book . the amount of writing he dos on here.
good lad flux . keep up the good work.

its a ill wind that dos no good

Thanks, vawtman, for saying what's been on the minds of the hundreds members (and how many more casual viewers who've read and learned without joining up?) that have received an insightful (and yes, often patient) answer from Professor Flux.

Flux has helped me on countless occasions, and his advice has proven to be valuable both on the day of delivery, AND when I re-read my old postings years later.  I learn more and can better appreciate the depth of his answer.

My favorite thing about his answers is how they are understandable to the person asking.

Oh, and he's always right.

For anyone who has the knowledge of the technical side of things, as well as the personality & people skills to convey that knowledge to as varied of a crowd that shows up here with a clarity unmatched by anyone... And do so without any expectations or compensation.....

Everyone here owes some degree of gratitude.

Everyone here is still curious if Flux is really Ziggy Stardust, but some questions are better unanswered.

Any which way, thanks a bunch to Flux for all the help. I am forever indebted.

Also, thanks to those who keep this forum going. It is one of the best collections of useful information on the internet, and an invaluable outlet for the creativity & collaboration of the masses that meet here.

I've said my thanks before when Flux has posted an answer, but it's worth saying again.  Thank you Flux.

I too would love to know who/what he is, I always imagine that he is a professor as others have mentioned.  I would also like to see what he's built.

This is a UK only reference, but isn't he a bit like "The Stig" off Top Gear?

Ditto to all of the above,

Although I would like FLUX to let us in on how he learned so much, his current set up, his life experiences etc. etc. I respect the fact that at this point and time he does not wish to share this.

FLUX, and all the others (don't want to venture into listing names in fear of forgetting invaluable contributors) please continue to help us less knowledgeable rookies, maybe one day we can only hope to assist in carrying the torch a bit further.

SINCERELY, THANK YOU!!!

Dan's, Flux, Jerry, Commanda, Ghurd, Ed, Tom, Master Zubbly and so many more I'd love to meet in person.
We all need to remember, like with zub, some day they won't be around to help show us the way, so-
JUST be NICE, even if your thoughts don't match what somebody else has in mind.

Vawt--You are right, in my opinion.  But, all on this board
are an asset to all, in some way.
Flux hase nudged me in the right direction more than once.
     Tom has done the same.
You have been helpfull, and courtious,  both on this board,
and in E-mail.  All of this is a step up to the plate, for all
of us.
We all just need to remember that this board is a tool, that
we are allowed to use, and it is very valuable.
Tom--this should have probably been in rants, but couldn't
make it work.  Put it wherever You think appropriate. And Thanks.
      bj
thanks all bj
