Bitmap files are just about taboo due to file size.  You need to convert it to a JPG at 640 X 480 max. Photo Size is limited to 150K bytes.

Load the bmp in MSpaint, MS Office Photo Editor, GiMP, or some other handy photo editor, then select file>save as and save the file as a jpg.

well i thought i would have a big problem there but i have done it.
 wasent so bad.
now i need to ask if the drawing i have done with the bits i have will work or not.
maybe the power will go up and down to much the relay will just chatter.
but its how i see to do this.
maybe i would be better posting this on controls.
can i try use this to heat water?

Fine use.

I have a distaste for relays.  2 cent personal opinion.
And I have some power fets that can take the 140W each easy enough, I think.
They are 0.0045 ohms.
Cheaper than a relay too.

Back on topic, try saving a file of that type can be pretty nice as a '.gif', in a very small size.
Check my files for gifs and their sizes.

three cheers for blueyonder for having horse sense. and i usually convert bitmaps to .gif format it is done the exact same way you converted that one except you select .gif instead of .jpg convention says .gif for drawings .jpeg for pictures.

That image is only 44KB. Converting it to a .gif of the same quality brings it down to about 25KB - not quite in half, but pretty close. A low quality .gif version would probably be fine and be smaller still.

You might want to check out Easily resize images for this site and Resizing Photos Made Easy too. For future reference. :)

take it easy

 thanks guys for the help.
in the past when i clicked save as. i normally just gave it a name (typed)
but now i had to look at converting it.
so i clicked on the other bit below. a drop down menu came out .
and hay presto it had all the different things i needed .
so now i understand how to make it jpeg or gif  .just select then save.
i hope the horse isent upset by kurt saying i have horse sence.
thanks ghurd . so yes fine means i can start playing with this setup .
ghurd you say you have sum power fets . if thay use power fets in the space shuttle
  then i am lost.
i will do a search to find the p/fets . and if there simple to fit.
will take relay out and fit.
but yes i do have one of your controllers here in the uk.
this is a world wide thing you got going here ghurd.
my one came via scotland.   later i will put a story on water heating and post a few pics of how it all looks.
   thanks yeh all.

I just noticed something.
The negative wire of the relay should go straight back to the battery negative, not share the negative with the controller.
Not sure how the relay coil is powered, but that could cause some problems too.

You have mail.
