We saved a beautiful 1899 farm house from the mall wrecking ball, insulated and installed renewable energy systems

Hello All.
Some of you have been asking me over the years about our home energy project.
Well, after 5 years, we've put together a movie of the project. Don't worry about sound, there isn't any.

The movie is 18 minutes long and includes pictures of:
The farm house we moved 33 miles and restored.
Wind turbine installation
Solar thermal instillation
Insulation of our home
Building cedar storm windows
Our Electric truck
Compact fluorescent vs. incandescent bulb comparisons
The movie was originally 25 minutes long but CNN chopped it down to 18 minutes.
Also, just a reminder that Earth Day is 22 April 2008.

It looks like you put the Bergey up in October of 03, how has it performed for you? Lots of interesting projects there in your home rebuild. I enjoyed the video. I don't recall seeing any posts related to it when you were building it. It is nice to follow along with the pitfalls and triumphs of a large project like that. Congratulations on your home. Hello Rich.

We have averaged about 4,000 KWh per year. The turbine was producing about 16,000 KWh per year with the previous owner who had the turbine up in the mountain passage in up state New York.
