Let there be light.

Hi

A long time ago I asked the board about the Sensibulb LED replacement bulbs.

The old thread is here:

Last Sunday I finally got my hands on one.
My verdict is....
This is the first LED product I've seen that can really replace an incandescent bulb. I pulled a 12V 10W incandescent bulb out of the reading lamp in my favourite corner on the boat and plugged in the Sensibulb. The light is brighter (!) and if anything, it is a bit warmer in colour temperature than the incandescent. I am IMPRESSED!

It looks a bit weird though. :)

How bright is the glare off of those bulbs.  I am planning to add a shade to these:

It looks like the sensibulbs have two superbright LED's mounted with no shade, so you are seeing the LED's directly.  Rich

I don't find the glare particularly disturbing, at least not more than the bulb it replaced but it's in a reading lamp which is normally over my left shoulder. I was thinking of making some round frosted glass disks to install in front of the Sensibulb. That¨s not needed for spreading the light though as they spread at close to 90 degrees.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.
