F & P weather protection?

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to protect the Fisher & Paykel wind turbine coils, magnets and laminations from the effects of being exposed to the weather?

I paint the exposed windings and laminations in outdoor varnish, it soaks in between the coils and lam's, but a better option would be to use a UV blocking paint. The plastic used on some of the F&P models is very UV sensitive, it will break down within a few months in direct sunlight. Once painted and sealed the F&P will last for years. The magnet hub has steel bands embedded behind the magnets, and this can rust, so seal around the edges of the magnets and any moulding holes where you can see laminations poking through.
Dont get too carried away with protecting the windings, remember they still need to radiate heat, so a single coat of paint will do.
