Shorting / Braking question

Hello all,
My system is a Hugh P. 8 foot dia. 5 phase, 12 volt. I have excellent South West winds most days making 2 to 3 hundred watts during the day. Controller (C60) and dump load work fine.
I'm required to be away for several weeks and I'm not entirely confident running it unsupervised.
Your thoughts please on leaving this machine shorted or should I take it down.
Thanks, Jim

Jim you give no information on the rest of your system, but if you trust your controller and dump load run with that.

Should you choose to brake it during your absence remember to apply the brake during a lull in the wind.

It's your choice, sooner or later we all have to trust the system, yes it may fail one day but so may we.

You will be safe enough leaving it on the brake.  I have several neighbours with this size of turbine and no need for all the power.  They run them when they need to, but mostly they seem to be on the brake.  They seem quite happy like that.
