Homebrew Wind Turbine Workshop

Off we go to Wisconsin!

We're off today to put on a work shop for the MREA (Midwest Renewable Energy Ass.) at Mick Sagrillos shop.  Should be fun.

Last week I bought this Van off craigslist - It's definitely not my style, but with 4 people and all the stuff we need to bring I don't think we could get by with anything smaller.  I wonder how many wind turbines will be built and how long they'll need to run to make the energy consumption a 'break even' deal!  The van was cheap - conversion vans have gone out of style.  This one runs well, has a new transmission - captains chairs etc.  Hopefully it gets us there and back.

All the lumber, materials, and most of the tools we should need to build a 10', 12' and a 16' turbine.  The van doesn't seem so big inside anymore!

On our way we'll drop by and see TomW, looking forward to that.  Hopefully we get to Wisconsin Sunday around noon - the workshop runs Monday through Saturday.

Dan;

Aww, gee, you had to remove the hot tub didn't you?

Looking forward to the visit.

In case you see this in time and can do it without too much hassle. Toss a Doc Wattson in the van. My original quit on me and I need to get a replacement.

Thanks.

Drive safe.

Tom.

Well if you guys pass through Dodge county (near Horicon Marsh) you will see about 50 wind generators going up. It ia actually quite imperssive looking.
Also if ya come up to custer wisconsin in june you will see alot of what otherpower talks about. It is the annual energy fair in this part of Wisconsin. Actually it is on June 20th.
Hope ya guys have a good time and if you pass through th Wautoma Wisconsin area fell free to drop by.

You guys may not see this right away, but WI, is big with ethanol, pull up to one of them and do a 50/50 with regular. You'll be glad you did.
Those 5.7l V8s actually do pretty good on the open road.
And if you can swing down into Illinois and have a look at the small wind farm there on I39, I think
Safe travels
Bruce S
