48v altenator idea foot power? [CLOSED]

help

hi there well i have an idea i don't have alot of experience with electricity i can build and run wire rebuild cars etc but when it cones to this i need help .. first how fast does a 48v altenator need to turn to produce decent power to charge a 48v bank of batteries ie 4- 12v batteries .. 2 how hard is it to turn the altenator to produce this charge can a person with a proper gear ratio and say a planetery gear (not sure if saying it right) on the altenator like a wind turbine would i be able to turn this with peddle power? and the needed rpm my idea is to be able to charge one set of batteries while using another to run then switch banks and continue i am not worried about only charging to 80% asi know takes longer to get to full 100% charge any idea's to help flesh this idea out thanks ..

On the right side of the page is an options window, one choice is "Google search the board". Pedal generators can be fun and educational to make.

I typed in "pedal power" and found many discussions and links about people who have done it. Good luck, and have fun.

ped gen is another good search term
It has been argued but the general standard is a human can only generate 100 watts for any period of time into 48 volt bank thats about 2 amps so very very long time to charge 4 batts But they make great fun projects and learing tools

I havent got a pedal generator so dont know the efficiency of them .. but I do cycle and can do so continuously at 13mph - I've heard cycling takes 15wh/mile so that is about 200w ..
