Asking for recommendations

My neighbor, who is also a coworker, complained to me the other day that Dwayne's Crowne lift batteries weren't holding a charge all day. The lift is a regular cherry picker with a 24 volt set that weighes about 1000 pounds.

A new battery costs about $4k new, so it would be worth spending some money to extend their life. Is there something battery powered he could drive around with all day that would clean the plates over a couple of weeks? The lift gets charged pretty much every day because it runs low that quick. We're getting another new lift soon, and will be putting a used battery in it. Crowne sells the lifts without batteries because of the cost of the batteries.

Once Dwayne's lift is running well again, the desulfator could be moved to the new lift with the old battery.

I've desulphated my 2850 lb fork lift battery with a simple circut found here on the board somewhere.

It uses a few capacitors and a fullwave bridge rectifier conected to the 120 volt mains. Kinda risky and battery can't be in motion but with line isolation it is safe enough.

I'm restoring some sulphated L-16s now with this circut.

Google search the board for "wattgas charger".
I think that is what Jerry is using.
