Where to obtain concentrator-suitable cells? [CLOSED]

thinking of experimenting...

Where would an average joe pick up solar cells suitable for use with a concentrator?  I'll probably start out with a small, regular setup for experimentation, but obviously they're not going to hold up long-term.

I also wonder - will "regualar" cells scale that high, giving as much current at high illumination (say, 10x or 30x regular illumination) as the cells made specifically for use with concentrators?

Information provided. CLOSED to further comments. We need to end this current cycle of asking an easy question being "research". Some user names are getting downright offensive.

A little advice, NO, and do some more reserch.

Realy if solar panels were meant to put out 30X their rating they would be rated at that!

Try reserching solar panels and heating/deteriation due to over heating etc.

Thankfullt I got in before CLOSED hit you

There are some companies out there still trying this.
As far regular type cells, this will burn them up quick. Along with the extra light comes extra heat. The you'll need active cooling and there goes the extra power.
IF you're talking about solar air or water heat, different animal. Do a search on helio-stats and such. THAT's where concentrators will really help.

IF you're really wanting to try this out, go grab a few older solar lawn lights and use the panels out of them. Do a quick measurement of the incoming juice before and after concentrating the light, then also if your meter has the ability, do the same thing for heat.

There is/was a type of setup out there that bounced the light to the panel instead of rotating the panel to the sun, and the discussion is on this forum somewhere.

Good luck and let us know how well you do.

Cheers
Bruce S
