what a steal

Yesterday i went to a battery reconditioning store and was looking for a battery for my system. he first pulled out a 125ah 12v UPS Agm, witch looked nice for 80.00. so then i asked him if he had any t105's around. So he brought out two decent looking batteries. so i checked the voltage and they read 6.3 and 6.1. and the pos terminal on either wasn't raised. And the sides were still flexible. Is it normal for the plates to be slightly warped or wavy? So then i went home and hooked them up to the turbine and set the c-40 for equalize and let them go. This morning i went out and they are warm but not hot. with little bubbles rising out of the plates. so they seem to be working. i am going to let them charge all day and then do another load test on them tonight when i get home from work.

It is kinda nice to be able to run my 36" TV and my computer at the same time. i have been sitting around 12.57 for about a hour now and i have had the tv and computer on for about three hours. it seems i get a lot more out of these deep cycles than i do with the basic car battery(crap).

I have been searching for some things on the board about reconditioning the t105's but i have not found too much that don't stray from the topic. so i am going to put a few good equalization's on them and see if they get better. Should i go and buy a desulfater for these. and would it really help or not.

A desulphator will help if you believe that it works , otherwise save your money. If a good equalising charge doesn't fix it nothing is going to.

I would set the charge controller volts up higher than normal and gas them for a bit, then load test them and if they have responded set the controller settings back to normal.

(I don't know about the Trojan t-105's or how big they are.....but my Trojan J305G's are extra tall.....and the ends bow out a little bit....

Ok so far these have been plenty of power not a bad deal for forty dollars each. I was wondering my batteries go from 13.5 to 12.40 and stay at 12.40 for about a hour before they fall to 12.39. why is this? and why does the power go down so fast from 13.5 to 12.40 and then stay for so long at that voltage?

Look at the chart posted above, the line for 80% charge shows exactly what you are describing.
