Hi folks

Hi folks

I'm in the process of build another bus/home and this time im going with some pretty heavy PV solar. I used a RV 3 way fridge. In my last one and for one thing I found it to be a power hog. But also I needed to cut a big hole in both the top and the side of the bus and I don't want to cut any holes in this one. If all goes as planed I looking to mount either 9 sharp 170 watt or 9 evergreen 190 watt panels on the roof and a good size battery bank to run my rolling life.  Now to my question, I'm looking at a   Sun Frost Refrigerator/Freezer. Have any of you folks used any of these models and are they really worth the high price. I don't care to much about the price if they are worth it. Any input will be appreciated. And if there is another manufacture that makes a super efficient fridge that you people know about please offer any info you can.

Peace along the way

Hi Dennis
Google Sundanzer  I have been using one of their 8 cu. ft chest type fridges in my house boat for 2 summers and think it is fantastic. The Price is reasonable and it has no problem running off of my system. 3-US64 64watt unisolar panels and 6 tired old (1988) 2volt 360 a.h. ex telephone system batteries.
This system also powers my lighting, water pump and entertainment system (12v car cd/radio, satelite radio and laptop dvd player.)

Thanks G. and southpaw

Well For 3 grand I would be looking for great and after reading that review The "Sunfrost" is far from great so I guess that unit is off the my list. The sundanzer seem to fit the bill but I would like to have a frige/freezer combo and upright is almost a must. The price is right though. If I could fit the freezer down in the baggage compartment I could buy one of each and still save about $700.00 but with top a load door I would have to pull the freezer out every time I want to get something out of it. I'm not ruling them out but I have to keep lookind for an upright unit. As I said in my first port my 3 way is 6.2 cf so if I can get a frige/freezer unit about 10 or 11 cf that would be great.

Thanks again
