Photo and photo files problem

photo and photo files problem

Hi I'm having problems with my photo and photo files.
Photo's are not posting properly (under 100k, but just slightly over size)and the photo files will not let me delete or rename.There are 2 files either .. or . with no other name and there are 2 pictures in one file.
Am I doing something wrong?

we have known about the . and .. thing for a wile we have sent Admin an email about the problem haven't heard anything back yet.....

The reason the images aren't working is because you're linking to a folder, not an image.

The top image is http://www.otherpower.com/images/scimages/8374/
The bottom image is http://www.otherpower.com/images/scimages/

See? No image.

nether one of the photos you uploaded are lost they are here http://www.otherpower.com/images/scimages/8374/

just the scoop interface that works off that directory is a little messed up i would suggest that for now you resize those photos under 150k and less than 640 x 480 pixels then rename them being sure to keep the .jpg at the end of the file name then re upload them then you should be able to post them just fine and just ignore the . and .. in "your photo uploads" that is what everybody else does.

If the board admin ever move up to a Microsoft based system, there's a component I wrote in ASP for my forum that I'm happy to let them have. It works like this... When soneone uploads a image ( jpg or gif ), the component checks its width, if its over 500 pixels wide, it resizes the image down to 500 pixels and then resaves it. The advantages are no images are ever over 500 pixels wide, and end up less than 70k file size so download bandwidth and server space is reduced. Its made a big difference, no more complaints about over size images, the forum just does its thing and resizes the images automatically.

Maybe some Linux guru could write something in C to do the same.
