Looking for information on Jacobs date of manufacture

Jacobs Model: P1582  Serial Number: 98EBB20  429346MH
Blades: ABGBVT  Gear: 12 degree long shaft spiner  Tail: Dual Fold
Wood Blades: 23ft.

Does anyone have information on serialization of these units/ date of manufacture?
I found this one abandoned and am looking for information on it. I have the ability to connect to a net metering system at my home, and am paying 9.5 cents per kwh. The system does not have a grid tie inverter. Are parts available for these? What would it cost to replace the blades? Can a larger swept area be applied to this unit to increase output? What is the value of a standing system of this vintage, considering it would need removal and re-installation?
Any internet sites recommended for information if not available here?
Thanks,
B

Is yours the old style or the new?

http://www.windturbine.net/products.htm is the current manufacturer, and according to an online encyclopedia, the originals were in use from 1930 to 1960.

I believe it is probably circa 1980's.

Short answer
Longer blades = less power

Long answer
If you put longer blades on it, then it will spin slower and it will not be able to produce it's rated output

I posted that without reading it, I said "Longer Blades = Less Power".
What I should have said is, If you put longer blades on a machine designed for smaller props, it will make less power because it will spin slower with the longer blades reducing the output voltage.
so that was the long answer . . .

Hi woof - yes that is usually the case, I'm not sure it's always the case for this particular machine though.  I could be wrong, but I think the big jacobs machines do come with blades varying quite a bit in size and I think the only difference between them is the rated output, the blade diameter, and the inverter (I think... ).  I dont think the generator, or the gearing is different in them (which does seem a bit odd)
