Trip to the local Menards

Everytime i need to take my truck to Appleton(wi)for honeydo projects i always search for turbine parts. It's part of the deal.

Today i stumbled upon this product and it was only 10 bucks.

I don't plan on potting the mags and think this is has good has the shafting epoxy i use for golf clubs but no need to pay shipping.

I hope the link works o.k for everyone

 Mark

I buy a product just like that at the local auto parts house. . .
Or Wally World. . .K-mart, or just about anywhere else. . .

It's called J-B Weld.

Looks the same to me. . .

Im not sure ab out the 'power poxy' stuff that was originally posted about.  JB weld has a fair bit of iron in it - it can get quite tedious around magnets!

Well after a 24hr cure and has i figured the mag broke. Now i can finally set the mags.
No room for error. This is awesome stuff.

Maybe i should start my own infomercial and sell it for $19.99 and throw in a few extra popcicle sticks :v)

Hi Doug
I used jb noweld on a motor conversion using 16 arc segment epoxy coated mags.Sure it's great for certain things.

It didn't seem to cog bad on the bench but the turbine had fits.I removed them like they were just sitting on the rotor.Maybe the iron used to help the bond got sucked around to the point that it weakens the stuff.I'm sure the stuff never thought it had to adhere magnets.

This epoxy uses kevlar tiny fibers.

I tested a long cure(waterproof)epoxy and busted the mag trying to remove it.So i guess i was lucky i used jb on the motor.

JB-Weld, or any other product will not stick to anything that is not perfectly clean.

I guess the kevlar is replacement for the iron in JB. . . I would think, though, that JB between a magnet and it's backing metal would be very little affected by that thin layer of JB between them. . .Might even serve to make the magnetic connection stronger. . .

At any rate, I will try that stuff next time I am fixing something that I would have used JB for. . .

Have a great day!
