I was reading your website and had a few questions . . .
What is a Ham radio Beacon ?
What are you using for a Load on your Dump Controller ?
Don't you think the size of your Genny's tail is too small ?

Good work on all you are doing there !!

Hi Jimmy,

Do you have any performance results yet from the Chispito?  Looks like a good job on the blades.  Did you follow Velacreations' guidlines for cutting?

Also, just a suggestion, the dark text on dark background on your web page is extremely hard to read.

This project may or may not work as I hope it will.I am really pressed for time as I can not get to the location it will be setup often as I like. With winter approaching,it will be hard to get there without hiking. This is just a test as the windy season is approaching in these parts. The entire wind gen was built mainly from the Velacreations plans except for the blades.I used 6 inch PVC.I will have larger blades ready in case I need them. The radio equipment ran from 4 - 12v/4AH batteries for 6 hours as a test.A large 12V/80AH should be enough? The tail is actually 18X12 where the velacreations called for 12X12.The mast may be a bit small, but half will be against the structure using u-bolts.
This will also explain the reasons for a beacon >

If there is wind some days, and some days none,no big deal. The radio beacon should run when it has enough energy. The dump load will be the 12v lighting on and in the camper.I may also add one of those yellow gumballs they use for snowplows :).The whole thing is in a remote area in southern NY.Sorry for the website text being hard to view.I really did try to have a mild text.I have seen some sites that make me actually dizzy.Maybe I will go to white text?
